Jerry Reeds „Guitar Man“ wurde wohl noch nie so brutal eingespielt und erinnert in Teilen an den Stil der dänischen Band Volbeat – irgendwie aber doch nicht, denn Sound und Arrangement sind doch zu eigenständig. „She’s a rocker“ und „This ain’t makin’ me dance“ sind würzig abgeschmeckte Rock ‘n‘ Roll-Tracks, „The only one“ zieht einem in 1:41 den Scheitel längs. Die schalkhaft trällernden Bläser und ein Steel Drum-Solo im L’amour-Schleicher “Oh Darling“ gehören auf jede Karibik-Kreuzfahrt und sind – so hollywoodig verwendet – wohl nur bei BIG BAD SHAKIN‘ aufzufinden.

* Flamingos (or flamingoes) are wading birds in the genus Phoenicopterus, the only genus in the family Phoenicopteridae. Most sources recognize six flamingo species. Three of these flamingo species can be found in the Americas, two species in Old World bars and dubious internet chat rooms, and one in the Hollywood Rockin’ Cartoon Pop circuit.

Flamingos often only stand on one of their two legs. The reason for this is obvious: Flamingos – just like most guitar players – tend to pass out after just one alcoholic beverage, but would need at least two to have their second leg activated. Some suggest that Flamingos have the ability to have half of their body go into a state of sleep. When one side is rested, the flamingo will swap legs, go into a bar, have a couple of beers and then let the other half sleep. Recent research has indicated that standing on one leg instead of two or three may allow Flamingos to conserve more body heat. This makes them tough opponents in underheated truck stops, on Himalaya expeditions, and in budget motel rooms.

Flamingos filter-feed on beer, beer and shredded-owl burgers. Ein bayerisch-österreichisches Gipfeltreffen zur Christmas-Zeit. In etwa so hatten sich Ty Tender, Österreichs Rock ‘n’ Roll Entertainer Number One, und Mike Roth, der Sänger und Frontmann der Münchner Band The Continentals, das vorgestellt. Die beiden kannten und schätzten sich bereits seit Jahren von gelegentlichen, gemeinsamen Shows in Wien, Linz und München. Ty Tender und Mike Roth trafen sich im Januar 2010 in der “Mozartstadt” Salzburg um neue musikalische Pläne zu schmieden. Ty Tender war ein großer Fan der 1997 veröffentlichten CD “Merry Christmas Baby”, die The Continentals mit US-Stargast Wanda Jackson produziert hatten. Im Laufe des Treffens wurde die Idee eines neuen, gemeinsamen Christmas-Albums geboren, bei der sich beide Künstler die gesanglichen Parts aufteilen sollten. Diese Idee stieß auch bei den Bandmitgliedern der Continentals unmittelbar auf große Gegenliebe. Unter der Produktionsleitung von Mike Roth begannen die Aufnahmen zu diesem Album in München im Sommer 2010 und sollten bis zum Sommer 2011 andauern. Während dieser Zeit wuchs zusammen, was zusammen gehört. Nach dem Motto “Old school meets the wild guys” fügten sich die variierenden Einflüsse aller Beteiligten zu einem Ganzen und es entstand ein bunter Christmas-Mix aus Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Swing, Bar-Jazz und Country-Rock. Gespielt und gesungen mit Herzblut und Leidenschaft.

Im Ergebnis: 20 Xmas Smash Hits – “Best Rockin’ Christmas Of Them All”.

Die Münchner Rocker veröffentlichten bisher acht Alben und liefern live ein heißes, “ganz eigenes” Cross-over-Gebräu aus Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Blues, Surf und Cowpunk. Das Repertoire reicht von stilecht arrangierten Covers bis hin zu eigenen Kompositionen im musikalischen Stil amerikanischer Roadmovies. Auch auf dieser CD sind mit den Songs “Rhythm Of The Glitter Balls”, “I Just Came Back For Christmas” und “Tonight” wieder Originale der Band zu hören.

A Bavarian-Austrian Summit at Christmas time – or something like this – was the smash idea for an album that was to be made together by Ty Tender, Austria’s Rock ‘n’ Roll entertainer number one, and Mike Roth, the lead singer and front man of the Munich-based band “The Continentals”. The two had known each other for years, and enjoyed the occasional joint shows they performed together in Vienna, Linz and Munich. Thus, a joint album seemed to be a great logical next step for both. Ty Tender and Mike Roth first met in January 2010 in the “City of Mozart”, Salzburg, in order to sniff out ideas and to forge close ties for their joint musical plans. Ty Tender was already a huge fan of the CD “Merry Christmas, Baby”, published in 1997 by The Continentals together with U.S. guest star Wanda Jackson, and looked forward to finding a way together with Mike Roth to create something really special. During that meeting, the idea of a jointly produced Christmas album was born, where it was decided that both artists should split the vocal parts. This idea met immediately well with the band members of The Continentals, and the details of the album were subsequently worked out during numerous talks and meetings amongst everyone over the following 6 months. Under the direction of Mike Roth, production of the album began in Munich in the summer of 2010 and continued until the summer of 2011. During this time, Ty and The Continentals grew close together and pulled together what became the essence of a milestone album. Following the motto “Old school meets the wild guys”, the varying influences of all those involved resulted in a colorful Christmas mix of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Swing, Bar-Jazz and Country-Rock, played and sung with heart and passion.

The result: 20 Xmas Smash Hits – “Best Rockin’ Christmas Of Them All.”

On the world’s stages at home – Ty’s home is in Linz. Ty Tender could be best described as the charming, energetic and the strong-voiced. Although he celebrated his 50 years on stage in 2010, he continues his untiring musical journey. During all his years on stage, there has never been a show of his without standing ovation and thunderous applause. His list of achievements is long. Whether in Memphis, Nashville or Las Vegas – in London, Stockholm or Dubai – Ty Tender sings in the hearts of his audience, both with a band or with a full orchestra. Like no other, he interprets unforgettable songs and celebrates, with his extraordinary voice, the legends of Rock ‘n’ Roll. “Blast from the Past”, 25th legendary anniversary of Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners
Die Aufnahmen des vorliegenden Albums sind eine Collection von unveröffentlichten Tracks der Band Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners, die zwischen 1985 und 1988 aufgenommen wurden und damit Aufnahmen enthalten, die zum Teil vor dem ersten offiziellen Album „Crazy Date“ 1986 entstanden sind. Alle Recordings sind auf Tonträger bisher unveröffentlicht und erscheinen rechtzeitig zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum seit Beginn der Ray Condo-Diskographieschreibung.

Die Band “Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners” wurde von Ray Condo (gebürtig als Raymond Tremblay) gegründet. Bassist und bildender Künstler Clive Jackson verlieh der Band den Namen “Hardrock Goners”, der ursprünglich von dem 50′s Hillbilly Musiker Hardrock Gunter stammte. Manche meinen, die Band wählte den Namen “Ray Condo” aus dem Grund, weil zu dem Zeitpunkt der Bandgründung ein aktiver Wohnungsmarkt in Kanada herrschte [Anm.: Condominium, engl. für Eigentumswohnung], der der Band mit Plakataufschriften wie z.B. „Eigentumswohnungen zu verkaufen“ (e.g. „Condo to sell“) kostenlose Werbung einbringen sollte. Andere wiederum meinen, “Condo” war ein Micmac Wort für “Rock” [Anm.: Micmac, indianisches Volk in Ostkanada; Felsen, dt. für Rock].

Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern gehörten Chris Dean am Banjo und Regan O’Connor an der Gitarre, beide auch Künstler der Band. Der Geiger Edgar Bridwell hörte von dem Trio um Ray, Clive und Chris, die Ende 1984 in Montreal auf einer Kunstausstellung spielten. Er trat aus der Zuschauermenge heraus und bot seine Dienste als Geiger an. Wenig später stießen die Brüder Eric und Peter Sandmark dazu (Gitarre und Schlagzeug). Neben dem klassischen Country hatte der Swamp-Rockabilly von Louisianas „Goldband Records“ einen großen Einfluss auf den Sound der Band.

Die Popularität der Band aus Montreal stieg stetig mit ihren Shows bei Loft Parties, Club-Gigs sowie einem 9-tägigen Event des Miller Music Festivals im Jahr 1986 und katapultierten sich auf ein neues Niveau der Bekanntheit, als sie in Toronto in Clubs wie z.B. dem Bamboo Club, dem Cameron House-, dem Silber-Dollar und der Horseshoe Tavern auftraten.

Die Aufnahmen entstammen aus 3 verschiedenen Aufnahmesessions der Bandgeschichte. Die zur ersten Session zählenden Songs, “One Night”, “Little Miss Linda”, “I Want You So Bad”, “Willing and Ready”, “High Temperature”, “High Voltage”, und “I’m Lonesome” kamen alle aus einer Aufnahme-Session der Band vom 2. September 1985, aus dem bisher nur eine offizielle Veröffentlichung eines Songs hervorging (Rock Island Line). Mit Ausnahme von “Willing and Ready” sind alle sechs Songs auf dieser CD bisher unveröffentlichte Songs. “Willing and Ready” wurde in einer anderen Session re-recorded und auf dem ersten offiziellen Album der Band, „Crazy Date“, veröffentlicht.

Die Songs der zweiten Session “I’m Coming Home”, “Rock and Roll-Guitar, “Mystery Train” und “Scratchin” stammen alle von einem Liveauftritt, der von dem Universitätsradiosender McGill im April 1988 in Montreal übertragen wurde. Die Songs sind bisher nicht auf Tonträger erschienen.

Die dritte Session mit den Songs “Sweet Talk”, “Rockaway Blues”, “Shadows”, “Teenage Love Is Misery”, “I Walk”, “Hold Me Baby” und “Lonely Street” stammen alle aus einem abgebrochenen Album-Projekt. Die Band nannte dieses Projekt “Chili Session”, da sie einen unvergesslichen, viel zu großen Berg voll Chili während den Aufnahme bestellt hatte!
“I Dig You Baby” ist ein Outtake der Session für das erste Album „Crazy Date“, das in dieser vorliegenden Fassung unveröffentlicht ist.

Ray Condo wurde am 16. Mai 1950 in Ottawa/Kanada geboren und starb in Vancouver am 14. April 2004. Dazwischen spielte er Musik in ganz Kanada, den Vereinigten Staaten und Europa. Er berührte in seiner Schaffensperiode viele Herzen und hinterließ ein beeindruckendes musikalisches Erbe. Ray Condo ist eine kanadische Rockabilly-Legende!

“Blast from the Past”, 25th legendary anniversary of Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners

The band “Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners” was created by Ray Condo (born as Raymond Tremblay in 1950, Ottawa, Canada) and bass player/visual artist, Clive Jackson, borrowing the name, “Hardrock Goners”, from 50′s hillbilly musician Hardrock Gunter. Some say they chose the name “Ray Condo”, because all the condo development going on at the time gave them free advertising, others say “Condo” was a Micmac word for “rock”. Original members included Chris Dean on banjo and Regan O’Connor on guitar, both artists as well. Violin player Edgar Bridwell heard the trio of Ray, Clive and Chris playing at an art party in Montreal in late ’84 and stepped from the crowd to offer to play fiddle with them. A big influence on the band’s sound, besides classic country material, was the swamp-rockabilly style of Louisiana’s Goldband records and the band paid tribute to that label’s owner with the inscription “Eddie Shuler Lives” on their first LP, “Crazy Date”.

The band grew in popularity in Montreal with a series of shows at loft parties, club gigs, and a nine day run in the Miller Music festival in 1986, but jumped to a new level of popularity when they began playing a series of club dates in Toronto at notorious watering holes like the Bamboo Club, Cameron House, Silver Dollar and the Horseshoe Tavern.

The recordings in this album are a collection of unreleased tracks recorded by Ray Condo and his Hardrock Goners from 1985 to 1988. They are drawn from three different times in the band’s history. The first set of songs, “One Night”, “Little Miss Linda”, “I Want You So Bad”, “Willing and Ready”, “High Temperature”, “High Voltage”, and “I’m Lonesome” all came from a recording session the band did on September 2nd, 1985, that produced one official release (Rock Island Line). All six of the songs on this disc are unreleased tracks from that session; but one, “Willing and Ready” was re-recorded in a different session, and released on the band’s first album, “Crazy Date”.

The second group of songs, “I’m Coming Home”, “Rock and Roll Guitar”, “Mystery Train” and “Scratchin” all came from a live performance on radio that the band did at the University of McGill’s radio station in Montreal, in April 1988.

The third set of songs, “Sweet Talk”, “Rockaway Blues”, “Shadows”, “Teenage Love Is Misery”, “I Walk”, “Hold Me Baby” and “Lonely Street” all came from an aborted album project that the band nicknamed the “Chili Sessions”, because the band had ordered a memorable batch of chili during the recording process! (“I Dig You Baby” was an out-take from the session for the band’s first album, “Crazy Date”.)

Ray Condo was born in Ottawa on May 16, 1950 and died in Vancouver on April 14, 2004. In between, he played music across Canada, the United States and Europe, and touched many lives and left a musical legacy. He is a Canadian rockabilly legend!

Seit 2010 steht Jürgen Boss als J. Boss wieder auf der Bühne und lässt es richtig krachen. Die Fans mögen seine Musik. Sie ist hart, manchmal melancholisch, nie sentimental und immer grundehrlich. J. Boss verkörpert hartes Urgestein, das die Fahnen einer Musik hochhält, die immer ihre eigene Zeit hat: Rock’n’Roll.

Einer, der weiß wovon er singt: J. Boss tourte schon in den sechziger Jahren mit den Beat-Größen Lords, Rattles und Liverbirds durch deutsche Lande – und bekam dann den Blues! 1964 war er Mitbegründer seiner ersten Band The Stares mit Auftritten in diversen Live-Clubs im süddeutschen Raum. Der Ruf der Bundeswehr sorgte für die Auflösung der Stares. Anfang 1969 spielte Jürgen Boss bei der Band Fellows aus Esslingen und ab 1971 bei Fate aus Kirchheim/Teck mit. 1972 bis 1974 war er Mitglied der Stuttgarter Formation Parchman Farm und gab im Jahre 1973 zusätzlich noch Gastspiele bei Stoned War und Mammut, beide ebenfalls aus Stuttgart.

Die J. Boss Blues Band wurde 1974 ins Leben gerufen. Es folgten in wechselnden Besetzungen bundesweite Auftritte, vorwiegend in honorigen Jazz-Clubs. Auch trat diese Formation immer wieder auf den Bühnen diverser Festivals und Open Airs auf. In diese Zeit fallen unter anderem Auftritte als Begleitband von Errol Dixon, Eddie Taylor & Louis Meyers, Jim Kahr (ex John Lee Hooker Band) und Judy Cheeks. Außerdem stand J. Boss im Duo mit Henry Cray, Pianist der Blues-Legende Sonny Boy Williamson II. auf der Bühne. 1983 erfolgte die Umbenennung in J. Boss Band, da die musikalische Ausrichtung der Band vom Blues weg in Richtung Rock’n’Roll tendierte.

1984 trat sie in Vorprogrammen für Eric Burdon und die Puhdys auf und bestritt eine Deutschland-Tournee mit der britischen Formation Dr. Feelgood. Bis 1986 folgten Gastspiele bei der Band Hoola Man Doola aus Ludwigsburg sowie Konzerte mit Savoy Brown Blues Band, Jack Bruce, den Blues Brothers und eine Deutschlandtournee mit Bo Diddley. 1989 komponierte und spielte J. Boss den Soundtrack zu dem Film „Unter weitem Himmel“ von Oluf Zierl. 1993 trat die Band im Vorprogramm von Rory Gallagher, Saxon und Nine Bellow Zero auf. 1994 folgte eine Frankreich-Tournee (Clubs). Since 2010, Jürgen Boss aka J. Boss has returned to the stage and he’s havin’ a blast. The fans like his music. It is hard, sometimes melancholy, never sentimental and always honest. J. One who knows what he sings: J. Boss had already toured in the sixties with the celebrated beat bands Lords, Rattles and Liverbirds throughout the German countryside – and then he got the Blues! In 1964, he co-founded his first band, The Stares, performing in various live clubs in southern Germany. The needs of the army was responsible for the liquidation of the Stares. In the early 1969s J. Boss played with the band The Fellows from Esslingen and from 1971 with The Fate from Kirchheim/Teck. From 1972 to 1974 he was a member of the Stuttgart outfit Parchman Farm and in addition he performed in 1973 as a guest with Stoned War and Mammut, both settled also in Stuttgart.

The J. Boss Blues Band was launched in 1974. This was followed by changing line-ups with nationwide appearances, mainly in worthy jazz clubs. This formation appeared again and again on the stages of various festivals and open air festivals. During this time there were slots as the opening band for Errol Dixon, Eddie Taylor & Louis Meyers, Jim Kahr (ex John Lee Hooker Band) and Judy Cheeks. In addition, J. Boss performed on stage in a duo with Henry Cray, pianist for the blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson II. In 1983 the band was renamed as J. Boss Band, because the musical direction of the band moved away from blues and tended more towards rock’n'roll.

In 1984 the band appeared in previous programmes for Eric Burdon and the Puhdys and played a nationwide tour in Germany with the British band Dr. Feelgood. Up to 1986 several guest appearances were made with the band Hoola Man Doola from Ludwigsburg and also concerts were performed with The Savoy Brown Blues Band, Jack Bruce, The Blues Brothers and again across Germany a tour with Bo Diddley. In 1989 J. Boss composed and performed the soundtrack for the movie “Unter weitem Himmel” (Under a wide heaven) by Oluf Zierl.

Der Zug rollt weiter. Mit „Orange Blossom Special“ zeigen sich The Continentals wieder in bester Spiellaune. Auf Wunsch des Bayerischen Fernsehens (BR) produzierte die Band diesen traditionellen und wohlbekannten Country Song in ihrem ganz eigenen Cow Punk Style. Den Hörer erwartet eine treibende Mixtur aus Ska, Country Rock und Rock‘n’Roll.
„Mystery Train“, eine Auskopplung aus dem Album „Frankfurt Special – A tribute to the King“ (Vampirette VAMPCD111), wurde von der Fachkritik bereits hoch gelobt und vervollständigt diese Single zum Mythos „Eisenbahn“.

The Continentals werden beide Songs in der BR-Sendung „Auf geht’s zum Eisenbahnjubiläum“ am 28.05.2010 ab 19.45 Uhr im TV präsentieren.

The Continentals, gegründet 1980 in München, gehören zu den deutschen Neo Rockabilly und Rock ’n’ Roll Bands der frühen 80er Jahre und geben mit dieser Produktion bereits einen kleinen Ausblick auf ihr neuntes Studioalbum, das im Juli 2010 erscheinen wird.

The Continentals zählen ohne Frage zu den Elite-Bands der deutschen und europäischen Rock‘n’Roll Szene. Ihr Weg sollte das Ziel sein – es folgten Clubs, Hallen und Freiluftbühnen in Frankreich, Jugoslawien, Russland, Niederlande, Belgien, Österreich, Schweiz, Italien, Dänemark und Deutschland. Hinzu kamen Radiomitschnitte und diverse Auftritte im deutschen TV (u.a. WWF Club, RTL Musikrevue, Clip Klapp, Auto Auto, Bayern Studio, Große Freizeit, Traumhochzeit …), die Mitwirkung bei Spielfilmen (»Verdammtes Glück« mit Heinz Hoenig, »Keiner hat das Pferd geküsst« mit Wolfgang Fierek, Dolly Dollar, Eddie Arendt) und der nicht enden wollende Spaß am Rock‘n’Roll, der bei den Konzerten und auch auf derzeit acht veröffentlichten Alben sowie diversen Samplerauskopplungen der Continentals zu hören ist.

Die Band erledigt diese Jobs stets mit Intuition und der gebührenden Hochachtung. Daher tourten sie europaweit mehrfach als Begleitband von Wanda Jackson, Frankie Ford, Janis Martin, Buddy Knox und Vince Everett. Auch als Anheizer haben sich die ‚Continentals‘ einen Namen gemacht. „Mystery Train“, an outtake of the album „Frankfurt Special – A tribute to the King“ (Vampirette VAMPCD111), was already highly recommended by the critics and complements the single with the myth of „railway“.

The Continentals will present both songs on German television on the 28th of May 2010.

The Continentals, founded in Munich/Germany in January 1980, belong to the German Neo Rockabilly and Rock‘n’Roll bands of the early 80s. With this production the band prefaces their ninth studio album which will be released in July 2010.

Kult-Produzent Carlos Perón (YELLO Gründer, Der Komtur) signete die Band für seine EISENBERG édition musicale und holt damit die Band „Updiverss” endlich zurück auf die Weltbühne. Carlos Perón verbindet eine herzliche Beziehung zur Band und Moskau. Im Frühjahr/Sommer 2010 wird er nach Moskau reisen, um das nächste Album von “Updiverss” amtlich abzumischen, mit reichlich Vodka und Kaviar als willkommenens Beiwerk. Ihr Album „I am happy with my Jacket“ wird nun erstmals über das Label FOXROCKS weltweit veröffentlicht.

Updiverss zählen zu den spannendsten und interessantesten Rock’n’Roll Acts aus Russland. Die Bandgründer und Songwriter Yury Ljamkin (George), Sergey Ettsel (Fridrich) sowie der Schlagzeuger Alexander Kuznetsov (Medved) starteten 2001 mit der Band „The Plane“ und ihrer ersten Veröffentlichung in 2002 mit dem Hit “One Diamond” auf NME (New Musical Express). Siggi Bemm wurde auf die Band aufmerksam und produzierte sie. Die Band nannte sich in „Updiverss“ um. Das Album „I am happy with my Jacket“ erschien zuerst auf Megaliner Records, einem Moskauer Label. Bemm, auch als Dan Diamond bekannt, ist erfolgreicher Musikproduzent (Woodhouse Studios), u.a. produzierte er Weltstars wie Peter Maffay, Udo Lindenberg, Joachim Witt, Therion, Kreator, The Gathering.

In der Insider- und Underground-Szene wird Dan Diamond oft als der „Marilyn Manson“ der Produzenten und Eminenz des Gothiksounds bezeichnet, andere sehen in ihm eine Art deutsche Antwort auf „Rick Rubin“. Seine Produktionen sind national wie international erfolgreich sowie mehrfach nominiert und ausgezeichnet. Als Produzent des Album „X“ von Peter Maffay gelang der Einstieg in die deutschen Album Charts direkt auf Platz 2 und erreichte Platin.

CARLOS PERÓN war Gründer der weltweit bekannten Kult-Band YELLO und Initiator einer der ersten Videoclips „The evening‘s young“ aus dem zweiten Album „Claro que si“ sowie fünf Jahre aktives Mitglied. Nach dem dritten YELLO-Album “You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess verlässt CARLOS PERÓN die Gruppe im Jahr 1984, um zahlreiche gewagte Solo-Projekte anzugehen. Viele Musikkritiker sind sich einig: Mit Beendigung seiner aktiven Phase verlor YELLO seinen rauen Schliff.

Im selben Jahr komponiert CARLOS PERÓN den Score für den Film “Die Schwarze Spinne” (Der Komtur). Mit „Wolfsheim“ und dem Titel „The Sparrows and the Nightingales“ erobert PERÓN mit diesem Newcomer-Act zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die Charts. Mit seinen neuen Alben „¡Perónismo para ti!“ darf man getrost behaupten, dass der neue, moderne PERÓN-Sound der authenischste ist, den es je seit Yello zu hören gab.

Die im Januar 1980 in München gegründeten ‚Continentals‘ zählen ohne Frage zu den Elite-Bands der deutschen und europäischen Rock‘n’Roll Szene. Die ‚Continentals‘ spielen handgemachten Rock‘n’Roll und haben sich der Tradition von Rhythm‘n’Blues, Rockabilly, Surf Sound, Country Rock, Boogie und Swing verpflichtet.

Ihr Weg sollte das Ziel sein – es folgten Clubs, Hallen und Freiluftbühnen in Frankreich, Jugoslawien, Russland, Niederlande, Belgien, Österreich, Schweiz, Italien, Dänemark und Deutschland. Hinzu kamen Radiomitschnitte und diverse Auftritte im deutschen TV (u.a. WWF Club, RTL Musikrevue, Clip Klapp, Auto Auto, Bayern Studio, Große Freizeit, Traumhochzeit …), die Mitwirkung bei Spielfilmen (»Verdammtes Glück« mit Heinz Hoenig, »Keiner hat das Pferd geküsst« mit Wolfgang Fierek, Dolly Dollar, Eddie Arendt) und der nicht enden wollende Spaß am Rock‘n’Roll, der bei den Konzerten und auch auf derzeit acht veröffentlichten Alben sowie diversen Samplerauskopplungen der Continentals zu hören ist.

Wenn sich US-Legenden und Top-Stars des Rock’n'Rolls in Europa aufhalten, lassen sie sich auf der Bühne bevorzugt von den ‚Continentals‘ begleiten. Die Band erledigt diese Jobs stets mit Intuition und der gebührenden Hochachtung. Daher tourten sie europaweit mehrfach als Begleitband von Wanda Jackson, Frankie Ford, Janis Martin, Buddy Knox und Vince Everett. Auch als Anheizer haben sich die ‚Continentals‘ einen Namen gemacht. Sie eröffneten bereits Shows für Carl Perkins, Bill Haley’s Comets, Buddy Holly’s Crickets, Tony Sheridan, The Rattles, Spider Murphy Gang und viele andere.

Im Sommer 1997 begannen die Studioaufnahmen für das Weihnachtsalbum, auf dem auch Wanda Jackson vier Songs singt. Das ‚Merry Christmas Baby‘-Album erschien rechtzeitig zur Weihnachtstour ‚97 mit Wanda Jackson, die durch Deutschland, Österreich, Belgien und Frankreich führte. Since their inception in Munich 1980, this band have been a mainstay on the German and European rock’n'roll circuit. They have opened for the Comets and Carl Perkins and also backed Frankie Ford, Janis Martin and Buddy Knox. Their most recent stint saw them accompanying Wanda Jackson. With influences as diverse as Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Stray Cats, Crazy Cavan ‘n’ the Rhythm Rockers, Robert Gordon, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and The Mavericks, variety is guaranteed and versatility is a strong point.
