CARLOS PERÓN war Gründer der weltweit bekannten Kult-Band YELLO und Initiator einer der ersten Videoclips „The evening‘s young“ aus dem zweiten Album „Claro que si“ sowie fünf Jahre aktives Mitglied. Nach dem dritten YELLO-Album “You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess verlässt CARLOS PERÓN die Gruppe im Jahr 1984, um zahlreiche gewagte Solo-Projekte anzugehen. Viele Musikkritiker sind sich einig: Mit Beendigung seiner aktiven Phase verlor YELLO seinen rauen Schliff.

Im selben Jahr komponiert CARLOS PERÓN den Score für den Film “Die Schwarze Spinne” (Der Komtur). In den Hauptrollen spielen Beatrice Kessler, Walo Lüönd, Peter Ehrlich und Walter Hess. Regie Mark M. Rissi. Soundtrack “The Devil’s Kiss”. Die schwarze Spinne ist eine Novelle von Jeremias Gotthelf aus dem Jahr 1842.

Mit „Wolfsheim“ und dem Titel „The Sparrows and the Nightingales“ erobert PERÓN mit diesem Newcomer-Act zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die Charts.

Mit seinen neuen Alben EL NUEVO und PERÒNISMO PARA TI!, das neue Versionen der Yello-Hits “BOSTICH”, „THE EVENING´S YOUNG“ und “YOU GOTTA SAY YES TO ANOTHER EXCESS” sowie “Der Komtur” enthält, darf man getrost behaupten, dass der neue, moderne PERÓN -Sound der beste ist, den es je seit Yello zu hören gab.

Im privaten Leben ist CARLOS PERÓN ein leidenschaftlicher Koch. Die Parties, die in seinem Haus gefeiert werden, sind berühmt. Eines seiner Lieblings-Rezepte sind Froschschenkel à la provencale.

Die vier Berliner zeigen positiven Mut zur Neuheit und kombinieren zwanglos und gekonnt Disco-, Skate- und Hip Hop-Elemente, ohne dabei ihre Linie aufzugeben. Generell hat man das Gefühl, Elvis würde heute ähnlich klingen, wäre er nicht 1935 sondern 1985 geboren. Der sich anschließende Ohrwurm I’m so glad“ groovt wie Hexe und hat genau wie der Klassiker „In the summertime“ Hit-Potenzial aus dem Hinterhalt.

Jerry Reeds „Guitar Man“ wurde wohl noch nie so brutal eingespielt und erinnert in Teilen an den Stil der dänischen Band Volbeat – irgendwie aber doch nicht, denn Sound und Arrangement sind doch zu eigenständig. „She’s a rocker“ und „This ain’t makin’ me dance“ sind würzig abgeschmeckte Rock ‘n‘ Roll-Tracks, „The only one“ zieht einem in 1:41 den Scheitel längs. Die schalkhaft trällernden Bläser und ein Steel Drum-Solo im L’amour-Schleicher “Oh Darling“ gehören auf jede Karibik-Kreuzfahrt und sind – so hollywoodig verwendet – wohl nur bei BIG BAD SHAKIN‘ aufzufinden.

Den runden Abschluss schaffen die vier für ihre legendär verrückten Live-Shows bekannten Ex-Halbwüchsigen mit „Stone-cold hypnotized“, das sich leistet, echte Drums mal auf Club-Techno zappeln zu lassen. * Flamingos (or flamingoes) are wading birds in the genus Phoenicopterus, the only genus in the family Phoenicopteridae. Most sources recognize six flamingo species. Three of these flamingo species can be found in the Americas, two species in Old World bars and dubious internet chat rooms, and one in the Hollywood Rockin’ Cartoon Pop circuit.

Flamingos often only stand on one of their two legs. The reason for this is obvious: Flamingos – just like most guitar players – tend to pass out after just one alcoholic beverage, but would need at least two to have their second leg activated. Some suggest that Flamingos have the ability to have half of their body go into a state of sleep. When one side is rested, the flamingo will swap legs, go into a bar, have a couple of beers and then let the other half sleep. Recent research has indicated that standing on one leg instead of two or three may allow Flamingos to conserve more body heat. This makes them tough opponents in underheated truck stops, on Himalaya expeditions, and in budget motel rooms.

Flamingos filter-feed on beer, beer and shredded-owl burgers. The pink or reddish colour of Flamingos comes from spray-on UV filters, they cover their entire body with during beauty sessions in well-hidden Hollywood cosmetic temples. Over the last years, most Flamingos have begun to wear sideburns and publicly hail German Rockin’Cartoon Pop band BIG BAD SHAKIN’. In autumn 2011 this has lead to a never seen before traffic congestion in Hollywood, CA during a CD release event of BIG BAD SHAKIN’s smash hit album Hollywood Flamingo…

Ein bayerisch-österreichisches Gipfeltreffen zur Christmas-Zeit. In etwa so hatten sich Ty Tender, Österreichs Rock ‘n’ Roll Entertainer Number One, und Mike Roth, der Sänger und Frontmann der Münchner Band The Continentals, das vorgestellt. Die beiden kannten und schätzten sich bereits seit Jahren von gelegentlichen, gemeinsamen Shows in Wien, Linz und München. Ty Tender und Mike Roth trafen sich im Januar 2010 in der “Mozartstadt” Salzburg um neue musikalische Pläne zu schmieden. Ty Tender war ein großer Fan der 1997 veröffentlichten CD “Merry Christmas Baby”, die The Continentals mit US-Stargast Wanda Jackson produziert hatten. Im Laufe des Treffens wurde die Idee eines neuen, gemeinsamen Christmas-Albums geboren, bei der sich beide Künstler die gesanglichen Parts aufteilen sollten. Diese Idee stieß auch bei den Bandmitgliedern der Continentals unmittelbar auf große Gegenliebe. Unter der Produktionsleitung von Mike Roth begannen die Aufnahmen zu diesem Album in München im Sommer 2010 und sollten bis zum Sommer 2011 andauern. Während dieser Zeit wuchs zusammen, was zusammen gehört. Nach dem Motto “Old school meets the wild guys” fügten sich die variierenden Einflüsse aller Beteiligten zu einem Ganzen und es entstand ein bunter Christmas-Mix aus Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Swing, Bar-Jazz und Country-Rock. Gespielt und gesungen mit Herzblut und Leidenschaft.

Im Ergebnis: 20 Xmas Smash Hits – “Best Rockin’ Christmas Of Them All”.

The Continentals zählen zu den deutschen Neo-Rockabilly-Bands und Rock ‘n’ Roll-Revival-Bands der frühen Stunde. Seit 1980 ist die Münchner Elite-Combo um ihren charismatischen Frontmann Mike Roth ein gern gesehener Gast auf nationalen und internationalen Bühnen. Hinzu kamen Studioaufnahmen, Radiomitschnitte und Auftritte im deutschen TV sowie die Mitwirkung bei Kino- und Fernsehfilmen. The Continentals gewannen u.a. Preise beim Buddy Holly Song Contest 1996 in Hamburg sowie bei den Country Music Awards (CMA) 2009 in der Kategorie Country Rock. Die renommierte Band tourte mehrfach europaweit als Begleitband für die US-Stars Wanda Jackson, Frankie Ford, Buddy Knox, Janis Martin und Vince Everett. Sie spielten als Anheizer für Carl Perkins, Bill Haley’s Comets, Buddy Holly’s Crickets, die Spider Murphy Gang, The Rattles und Tony Sheridan.

Die Münchner Rocker veröffentlichten bisher acht Alben und liefern live ein heißes, “ganz eigenes” Cross-over-Gebräu aus Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Blues, Surf und Cowpunk. Das Repertoire reicht von stilecht arrangierten Covers bis hin zu eigenen Kompositionen im musikalischen Stil amerikanischer Roadmovies. Auch auf dieser CD sind mit den Songs “Rhythm Of The Glitter Balls”, “I Just Came Back For Christmas” und “Tonight” wieder Originale der Band zu hören.

A Bavarian-Austrian Summit at Christmas time – or something like this – was the smash idea for an album that was to be made together by Ty Tender, Austria’s Rock ‘n’ Roll entertainer number one, and Mike Roth, the lead singer and front man of the Munich-based band “The Continentals”. The two had known each other for years, and enjoyed the occasional joint shows they performed together in Vienna, Linz and Munich. Thus, a joint album seemed to be a great logical next step for both. Ty Tender and Mike Roth first met in January 2010 in the “City of Mozart”, Salzburg, in order to sniff out ideas and to forge close ties for their joint musical plans. Ty Tender was already a huge fan of the CD “Merry Christmas, Baby”, published in 1997 by The Continentals together with U.S. guest star Wanda Jackson, and looked forward to finding a way together with Mike Roth to create something really special. During that meeting, the idea of a jointly produced Christmas album was born, where it was decided that both artists should split the vocal parts. This idea met immediately well with the band members of The Continentals, and the details of the album were subsequently worked out during numerous talks and meetings amongst everyone over the following 6 months. Under the direction of Mike Roth, production of the album began in Munich in the summer of 2010 and continued until the summer of 2011. During this time, Ty and The Continentals grew close together and pulled together what became the essence of a milestone album. Following the motto “Old school meets the wild guys”, the varying influences of all those involved resulted in a colorful Christmas mix of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Swing, Bar-Jazz and Country-Rock, played and sung with heart and passion.

The Continentals are among the first established German Neo-Rockabilly bands and Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival bands. Since 1980, the Munich-based Elite Combo, with their charismatic front man Mike Roth, have been frequent guests on both, the national and international stages. They have also been involved in studio recordings, radio broadcasts and appearances on German TV as well as participants in cinema and TV films. The Continentals won prizes at the Buddy Holly Song Contest 1996 in Hamburg and at the Country Music Awards (CMA) 2009 in Pullmann City in the category of Country-Rock. The renowned band has toured Europe several times as backing band for U.S. stars like Wanda Jackson, Frankie Ford, Buddy Knox, Janis Martin and Vince Everett. They’ve also played as the warm-up band for Carl Perkins, Bill Haley’s Comets, Buddy Holly’s Crickets, the Spider Murphy Gang, The Rattles, Tony Sheridan and others.

The Munich-based rockers have released eight albums to date and provide at their live shows a hot “completely separate” cross-over-brew of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rockabilly, Blues, Surf and Cow-Punk. Their repertoire ranges from “stylishly arranged covers”, to their own compositions in the musical style of American road movies. Their original songs “Rhythm Of The Glitter Balls,” “Tonight” and “I Just Came Back For Christmas” can be heard on this CD.

Die Aufnahmen des vorliegenden Albums sind eine Collection von unveröffentlichten Tracks der Band Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners, die zwischen 1985 und 1988 aufgenommen wurden und damit Aufnahmen enthalten, die zum Teil vor dem ersten offiziellen Album „Crazy Date“ 1986 entstanden sind. Alle Recordings sind auf Tonträger bisher unveröffentlicht und erscheinen rechtzeitig zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum seit Beginn der Ray Condo-Diskographieschreibung.

Die Band “Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners” wurde von Ray Condo (gebürtig als Raymond Tremblay) gegründet. Bassist und bildender Künstler Clive Jackson verlieh der Band den Namen “Hardrock Goners”, der ursprünglich von dem 50′s Hillbilly Musiker Hardrock Gunter stammte. Manche meinen, die Band wählte den Namen “Ray Condo” aus dem Grund, weil zu dem Zeitpunkt der Bandgründung ein aktiver Wohnungsmarkt in Kanada herrschte [Anm.: Condominium, engl. für Eigentumswohnung], der der Band mit Plakataufschriften wie z.B. „Eigentumswohnungen zu verkaufen“ (e.g. „Condo to sell“) kostenlose Werbung einbringen sollte. Andere wiederum meinen, “Condo” war ein Micmac Wort für “Rock” [Anm.: Micmac, indianisches Volk in Ostkanada; Felsen, dt. für Rock].

Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern gehörten Chris Dean am Banjo und Regan O’Connor an der Gitarre, beide auch Künstler der Band. Der Geiger Edgar Bridwell hörte von dem Trio um Ray, Clive und Chris, die Ende 1984 in Montreal auf einer Kunstausstellung spielten. Er trat aus der Zuschauermenge heraus und bot seine Dienste als Geiger an. Wenig später stießen die Brüder Eric und Peter Sandmark dazu (Gitarre und Schlagzeug). Neben dem klassischen Country hatte der Swamp-Rockabilly von Louisianas „Goldband Records“ einen großen Einfluss auf den Sound der Band.

Die Popularität der Band aus Montreal stieg stetig mit ihren Shows bei Loft Parties, Club-Gigs sowie einem 9-tägigen Event des Miller Music Festivals im Jahr 1986 und katapultierten sich auf ein neues Niveau der Bekanntheit, als sie in Toronto in Clubs wie z.B. dem Bamboo Club, dem Cameron House-, dem Silber-Dollar und der Horseshoe Tavern auftraten.

Die Aufnahmen entstammen aus 3 verschiedenen Aufnahmesessions der Bandgeschichte. Die zur ersten Session zählenden Songs, “One Night”, “Little Miss Linda”, “I Want You So Bad”, “Willing and Ready”, “High Temperature”, “High Voltage”, und “I’m Lonesome” kamen alle aus einer Aufnahme-Session der Band vom 2. September 1985, aus dem bisher nur eine offizielle Veröffentlichung eines Songs hervorging (Rock Island Line). Mit Ausnahme von “Willing and Ready” sind alle sechs Songs auf dieser CD bisher unveröffentlichte Songs. “Willing and Ready” wurde in einer anderen Session re-recorded und auf dem ersten offiziellen Album der Band, „Crazy Date“, veröffentlicht.

Die Songs der zweiten Session “I’m Coming Home”, “Rock and Roll-Guitar, “Mystery Train” und “Scratchin” stammen alle von einem Liveauftritt, der von dem Universitätsradiosender McGill im April 1988 in Montreal übertragen wurde. Die Songs sind bisher nicht auf Tonträger erschienen.

Die dritte Session mit den Songs “Sweet Talk”, “Rockaway Blues”, “Shadows”, “Teenage Love Is Misery”, “I Walk”, “Hold Me Baby” und “Lonely Street” stammen alle aus einem abgebrochenen Album-Projekt. Die Band nannte dieses Projekt “Chili Session”, da sie einen unvergesslichen, viel zu großen Berg voll Chili während den Aufnahme bestellt hatte!
“I Dig You Baby” ist ein Outtake der Session für das erste Album „Crazy Date“, das in dieser vorliegenden Fassung unveröffentlicht ist.

Ray Condo wurde am 16. Mai 1950 in Ottawa/Kanada geboren und starb in Vancouver am 14. April 2004. Dazwischen spielte er Musik in ganz Kanada, den Vereinigten Staaten und Europa. Er berührte in seiner Schaffensperiode viele Herzen und hinterließ ein beeindruckendes musikalisches Erbe. Ray Condo ist eine kanadische Rockabilly-Legende!

The band “Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners” was created by Ray Condo (born as Raymond Tremblay in 1950, Ottawa, Canada) and bass player/visual artist, Clive Jackson, borrowing the name, “Hardrock Goners”, from 50′s hillbilly musician Hardrock Gunter. Some say they chose the name “Ray Condo”, because all the condo development going on at the time gave them free advertising, others say “Condo” was a Micmac word for “rock”. Original members included Chris Dean on banjo and Regan O’Connor on guitar, both artists as well. Violin player Edgar Bridwell heard the trio of Ray, Clive and Chris playing at an art party in Montreal in late ’84 and stepped from the crowd to offer to play fiddle with them. A big influence on the band’s sound, besides classic country material, was the swamp-rockabilly style of Louisiana’s Goldband records and the band paid tribute to that label’s owner with the inscription “Eddie Shuler Lives” on their first LP, “Crazy Date”.

The band grew in popularity in Montreal with a series of shows at loft parties, club gigs, and a nine day run in the Miller Music festival in 1986, but jumped to a new level of popularity when they began playing a series of club dates in Toronto at notorious watering holes like the Bamboo Club, Cameron House, Silver Dollar and the Horseshoe Tavern.

The recordings in this album are a collection of unreleased tracks recorded by Ray Condo and his Hardrock Goners from 1985 to 1988. They are drawn from three different times in the band’s history. The first set of songs, “One Night”, “Little Miss Linda”, “I Want You So Bad”, “Willing and Ready”, “High Temperature”, “High Voltage”, and “I’m Lonesome” all came from a recording session the band did on September 2nd, 1985, that produced one official release (Rock Island Line). All six of the songs on this disc are unreleased tracks from that session; but one, “Willing and Ready” was re-recorded in a different session, and released on the band’s first album, “Crazy Date”.

The second group of songs, “I’m Coming Home”, “Rock and Roll Guitar”, “Mystery Train” and “Scratchin” all came from a live performance on radio that the band did at the University of McGill’s radio station in Montreal, in April 1988.

The third set of songs, “Sweet Talk”, “Rockaway Blues”, “Shadows”, “Teenage Love Is Misery”, “I Walk”, “Hold Me Baby” and “Lonely Street” all came from an aborted album project that the band nicknamed the “Chili Sessions”, because the band had ordered a memorable batch of chili during the recording process! (“I Dig You Baby” was an out-take from the session for the band’s first album, “Crazy Date”.)

Ray Condo was born in Ottawa on May 16, 1950 and died in Vancouver on April 14, 2004. In between, he played music across Canada, the United States and Europe, and touched many lives and left a musical legacy. He is a Canadian rockabilly legend!

Aus der Asche der Bands „Diversion“ und „Stiffkick“ wurde im Jahr 2009 die Band „Planet Zoo“. Mehr als 10 Jahre tourten Björn & Butchy mit Ihrer alten Band „Diversion“ durchs Land, dabei haben sich die Wege von Christian, Baris und Alex (ex „Stiffkick“) gekreuzt. Nachdem beide Bands ihren Abschied feierten, beschloss man gemeinsam etwas Neues aufzubauen. Mehr als ein Jahr nach Gründung der Band ist es nun endlich soweit. „Planet Zoo“ präsentieren ihre Debüt EP zusammen mit digitalem Booklet und einem professionell produzierten Musicvideoclip des Songs „Falling Deeper“. Der Clip wartet mit einer witzigen und einfallsreichen Story auf.


Die markante Stimme von Alexander Schmid zieht den Hörer sofort in seinen Bann. Die genialen Melodien gehen nach den ersten paar Minuten direkt über das Ohr ins Hirn. Die Refrains bleiben sofort hängen. “I would die for you tonight, when I feel my heart is gone …” heißt es in einem der Songs und es stimmt mit dem Motto der Band überein: Mit Herzblut dabei sein, mit Vollgas voraus und machen worauf man Lust hat – das hört man den Songs an!

Die Jungs rocken auf der Bühne sofort los. Ohne jegliche Vorurteile und Anpassungen an musikalische Erwartungen der momentanen Rock- & Alternativszene bieten sie eine Mischung aus Rock und Metal, zusammen mit einem fettem Gitarrenbrett, aggressiv harten Shouts und einem Gesang mit viel Melodie vom Feinsten.

Live kann man einiges erwarten, denn nach nur einem Jahr kann die Band bereits auf viele Auftritte mit ausgezeichneten Pressereaktionen zurückblicken. Die Band ist Live eine absolute Wucht. Headbanging, Moshen und Brüllen bis die Stimmbänder versagen. Shouter Björn macht es vor und die Fans machen begeistert mit. Wir werden noch viel von „Planet Zoo“ hören, sofern die Stimmbänder von Björn die Live-Auftritte überleben werden…

“Master’s Monkeys” gehören bislang zu den erfolgreichsten NRW-Bands in den ausgeschriebenen WDR2-Wettbewerben. Schon mit zwei Songs konnten sie jeweils dreimal den Wochengewinn verbuchen, das Maximum in diesem Voting. “Over and over again” und “Little Prostitute” hießen die beiden Songs aus dem Album “Under the Shade of a Pine”. Außerdem war die Band um Paul Aka Kessler im Finale um den Auftritt beim WDR2 Tag in Nettetal. Inzwischen sind “Master’s Monkeys” wieder im Studio gewesen und haben neues Material aufgenommen. Und mit einem Song („The Cockfight“) aus diesen Sessions traten sie nun zum dritten Mal an.“

Nachdem Master’s Monkeys anfänglich in verschiedenen und wechselnden Besetzungen auftrat, hat Paul Kessler inzwischen eine Stammbesetzung mit herausragenden Musikern und außergewöhnlicher Instrumentierung zusammengestellt. Das Quintett hat neben Schlagzeug, Bass und Gitarre noch einiges mehr zu bieten. So fügen sich Akkordeon, Trompete, Melodica, Bluesharp, Xylophon, Charango, Theremin und diverse Percussioninstrumente perfekt in die jeweilige Stimmung der verschiedenen Songs ein und machen aus Master’s Monkeys ein musikalisches Gesamtkunstwerk. Inzwischen arbeitet er zusammen mit dem Videokünstler Robert Fiedler an einem Musikvideo.

After a Germany tour, Paul published a Master’s Monkeys live album, called ‘Street Theater 2008′ In Summer 2009 the song ‘Over & Over Again’ was the winning song in a competition of the West German Radio WDR 2 and not much later Paul finished his first longplayer ‘Under The Shade Of A Pine’ in October 2009.
At the end of February 2010 the song ‘Little Prostitute’ was the next winning song of the WDR 2 radio competition.
Street ballads, crime stories and traumatic dreamworlds – Sometimes bluesy, sometimes jazzy and always reflecting a special and particular atmosphere.
Right now Paul has just moved to Germany’s media city Cologne and started working with a young talented video artist to produce visual material for Master’s Monkeys.

Das Rezept ist denkbar einfach: Man nehme Ohrwurmmelodien sowie mehrstimmigen, harmonischen Gesang und mischt das Ganze mit kraftvollen Shouts und voluminösen Gitarrenriffs. Fertig ist der Sound von „Planet Zoo“. Die Band erinnert mit ihrem Stil an „Rise Against“ sowie „Story Of The Year“.

Mit dem aus dem neuen Album „¡Perónismo para ti!“ ausgekoppelten Old School Mix des Songs “You gotta say yes to another excess” produzierte das Electronic-Label “Suite 51″ von MCDP International jetzt das “Sprung-aus-den-Wolken”-Musikvideo. Die Aufnahmen entstanden in Colorado (USA), Texas (USA), Nevada (USA), Kirchberg und Nauders (Tirol/Österreich), Mallorca (Spanien), Annecy (Frankreich) und Ronneburg (Hessen/Deutschland).

CARLOS PERÓN war Gründer der weltweit bekannten Kult-Band YELLO und Initiator einer der ersten Videoclips „The evening‘s young“ aus dem zweiten Album „Claro que si“ sowie fünf Jahre aktives Mitglied. Nach dem dritten YELLO-Album “You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess verlässt CARLOS PERÓN die Gruppe im Jahr 1984, um zahlreiche gewagte Solo-Projekte anzugehen. Viele Musikkritiker sind sich einig: Mit Beendigung seiner aktiven Phase verlor YELLO seinen rauen Schliff.

Mit seinem Album zündet Perón gleich mehrere Bomben. Den Yello-Hits “You gotta say yes to another excess” und “Bostich” rückt Perón radikaler denn je zu Leibe. Der Schränz Mix durchbricht wie ein Leopard-Panzer alle Betonwände und bei “Bostich” „reflektiert“ er nicht, sondern macht den Mix so wie er sein sollte – raffiniert und zeitgeistig. Erstmalig tauchen mit dem Hit “Der Komtur” Bilder aus dem düsteren Filmepos “Die schwarze Spinne“ auf, die als Bonusvideo auf der CD beigefügt sind. In “A gadda da muerte” fährt Perón Schlitten mit Iron Butterfly und mit “Barfly” gelingt dem Soundkünstler der optimale “progressiv House”-Hit, dem ein skuriles Video, basierend auf Footage-Material der Wies‘n Band McCowbell folgen wird. Einer der Höhepunkte des Albums ist “Para macho para ti”: Hier befindet sich Carlos Perón im Duett mit seinem „Staatskumpel“ Fidel Castro. Zu guter Letzt findet das Album mit “Las bombas atomicas” einen düsteren Abschluss, sozusagen eine Selbstbezichtigung der Revolutionäre. „¡Perónismo para ti!“ ist ein äußerst brisantes und ebenso brillantes Album, welches sich um Revolution und Tanzwut dreht. Hier weht dieser raue perónistische Schliff und Perón grinst vom Cover herab wie eine Mischung aus „Wilhelm Tell“ und Che Guevara. Viva la revolucion cubana.

“Im Oktober 2008 reiste ich nach Bielefeld, um einem Doo-Wop-Konzert beizuwohnen. Drei der vier Bands, die auftraten, kannte ich bereits: „The Chaperals“, „The Crystalairs“ und „The Fabulous Flops“. Jede dieser Bands ist seit über 20 Jahren zusammen und hat mehrere CD’s veröffentlicht. Die vierte Band „The I Love You So’s“ war mir bis dahin unbekannt und hatte sie zuvor noch nie gesehen. Die vier Jungs aus Frankfurt am Main waren erst seit kurzem zusammen, aber sie schienen nicht eingeschüchtert zu sein, mit den weit mehr bekannten anderen Bands zusammen auf einer Bühne zu stehen. In der Tat erschienen sie sehr entspannt und hatten großen Spaß!

„The I Love You So’s“ versuchen nicht, die Doo-Wop-Songs der 50er und frühen 60er Jahre zu kopieren. Wenn Sie authentische Remakes Ihrer Lieblingslieder aus dieser Zeit hören möchten, ist diese Band vermutlich nichts für Sie. „The I Love You So’s“ ändern ihr Tempo, ihre Gesangs- und Chorstimmen abweichend zum Original. In den letzten drei Jahren des gemeinsamen Singen haben sie daraus ihren eigenen Stil entwickelt.
Die Jungs haben den Doo-Wop-Stil auf der CD zu neuen Ebenen geführt, indem sie ihre eigenen, selbstgeschriebenen Songs aufgenommen haben! Die ersten beiden Songs, die sie mir zusendeten, waren „I Can’t Wait“ und „Call Me Tonight“. Ich mochte beide Songs sofort nach dem ersten Hören, jetzt gefallen sie mir sogar noch besser. Es ist absolut klasse, neues Material zu hören und nicht immer wieder die gleichen alten Songs, die schon zuvor dutzende Male von so vielen Bands gespielt wurden!

Nachdem ich einige Zeit mit der Gruppe verbracht hatte, war mir klar, dass „The I Love You So’s“ Spaß daran haben, diese Musik zu singen! Ich habe das in dieser Nacht in Bielefeld gesehen und Sie werden es selbst bemerken, während Sie dem Album „Call Me Tonight“ zuhören. Weiter so, Jungs!”

“In October 2008 I traveled to Bielefeld, Germany to attend a doo-wop concert. I was already very familiar with three of the groups that were performing: The Chaperals, The Crystalairs, and The Fabulous Flops. Each of these groups have been together for twenty years and have released multiple CDs.

The fourth group — The I Love You So’s — was one I had not seen before, and did not know very well. These four young guys from Frankfurt am Main / Germany had been together for only a short time, but they did not seem to be intimidated to be on the same stage with the more experienced, well-known groups. In fact, they appeared to be very relaxed and really having a great time!

The I Love You So’s do not attempt to replicate the doo-wop songs of the 50s and early 60s. If you want to hear note for note remakes of your favorite songs from that era, this is not the group for you. The I Love You So’s may change the tempo, or do the lead and/or backing vocals very differently from the original. Over the past three years of singing together, they have developed a style all their own.

The guys have taken that style to new levels with this CD by writing their own new doo-wop songs! The first two they sent me were “I Can’t Wait” and “Call Me Tonight”. I liked both of those the first time I played them, and like them more now. It is so great to hear new material like this, not the same old songs that have been done dozens of times by many groups!

After spending some time with the group, it was clear to me that The I Love You So’s have fun singing this music! I saw it that night in Bielefeld, and you will hear it as you listen to this album ‘Call Me Tonight’. Keep up the good work, guys!”

CARLOS PERÓN und Weihnachten – da brennt die Hütte wie im alten Rom – PERÓN verarbeitet klassische Weihnachtslieder zu modernen Mitsingschlagern im Technogewand – doch hier schwingt diesmal nicht der Nikolausi die Peitsche, sondern unsere heißgeliebte Domina Lady X-Mas. Eine wahre Bereicherung fürs Fest der Feste. „Uhh yeah….he, he, he….kann denn Hiebe Sünde sein“?

Lady-X-Mas ist natürlich eine Anspielung auf Perón’s Fetisch-Bestseller-Produktionen „Les Salles“, die mit dem Verkaufshit „La salle blanche“ ihren vorläufigen Höhepunkt gefunden haben. Diese EP gehört unter jeden Gabentisch und kann z.B. mit Handschellen und Peitsche kombiniert werden.

CARLOS PERÓN war Gründer der weltweit bekannten Kult-Band YELLO und Initiator des weltweit ersten Videoclips „The evening‘s young“ aus dem zweiten Album „Claro que si“ sowie fünf Jahre aktives Mitglied. Nach dem dritten YELLO-Album “You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess verlässt CARLOS PERÓN die Gruppe im Jahr 1984, um zahlreiche gewagte Solo-Projekte anzugehen. Viele Musikkritiker sind sich einig: Mit Beendigung seiner aktiven Phase verlor YELLO seinen rauen Schliff.

Im selben Jahr komponiert CARLOS PERÓN den Score für den Film “Die Schwarze Spinne” (Der Komtur). Mit „Wolfsheim“ und dem Titel „The Sparrows and the Nightingales“ erobert PERÓN mit diesem Newcomer-Act zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt die Charts.
